In the event of inter-high school basketball championship, Governor Cup 2017, male and female basketball team of Darma Yudha senior high school participated in such event which is sponsored by Youth and Sport Affairs, Riau Province. The Governor Cup 2017 was followed by many different senior high schools in Riau.

This event was held at Tribuana Youth Sports Center (GOR Tribuana), Pekanbaru, from 11^th to 15^th December 2017. Male basketball team of Darma Yudha School was trained and guided by Mr Robertus Dhanang while the female team was handled by Ms Yenni.

Here are the students who involved in male team; Alexander Stevanus Aw Yang, Cliven Liegent, Eric Guslin Son, Frederick Holijaya, Kelvin Marcelino, Robby Gustiawan, and Theodoric Nathanael. Whilst, female team was represented by Cindy Wijaya, Evelina, Frisca, Jesi Stefani, Stefani Sunyoto, Stephanie, and Vella Bougenvil Tanvares.

After going through a series of 5-day matches, both male and female basketball teams of Darma Yudha senior high school successfully achieved the 2^nd winner in Governor Cup 2017. In the second final rounds, the teams, competed vs SMAN 1 Pekanbaru.

Overall, Mr Dhanang commented, “this achievement is not easy, the students were totally struggled during the battles, which eventually, we can go to the final round. Hopefully, we can achieve more than this in the future, good job guys!” (APW)
