Saturday, October 28th, 2017, was the commemoration of the 89th years Indonesia Youth Pledge day. The 11th graders of science and social programme in the school visited Taman Makam Pahlawan Kusuma Dharma (The Cemetery of Indonesian Heroes) in Pekanbaru, from 16:00 to 17:30.
This visit was initiated by Mr Jimmy Frismandana Kudo, a history teacher in Darma Yudha Senior High School. There were about 200 students, accompanied by form teachers from each class.
Mr Christian Pramudana, acts as a senior high school principal also joined the programme. This historical visit was aimed at providing youthful vigor in every trace of their way to understand the pledge of youths in 1928.
Trias Tanriyan as the president of student council also contributed in influencing his young spirit to his friends. The way he believes is that by giving all his best effort for the nation and the country, also to some respects with all people’s abilities and unique talents in changing Indonesia to be better.
Represented by Mr Christian Pramudana and Trias Tanriyan, they gave red and white roses to Mr Edi Susanto as the manager of TMP Kusuma Dharma. This shows a symbolic meaning of the courage and sincerity. Therefore, it is expected that there will be many young fighters who dedicate themselves to the beloved country, Indonesia.
Mr Jimmy has a strong desire that with the spark of youthful spirit reflected from the enthusiastic faces of the the students, then this short visit to TMP Kusuma Dharma became a historical memory to be remembered along with the history of Youth Pledge event in 1928 which was really amazing.
The students also sow flowers with solemnity, recalling the great struggle of the nation’s predecessors. It is reflected by all their contribution for the independence of Indonesia and raising of the sacred red and white heirloom flag.
