This programme was entitled ‘through the timelessness and inherent memories of history, gifted generation of Darma Yudha – for the sake of unity Indonesia’. This was a field trip programme for the 10th graders of senior high school, held on Saturday, January 27th, 2018. The students and teachers visited some historical sites in Kampar regency.
Aproximately, there were 160 students participated in this programme, and they were accompanied by Mr Bayu Hanif Pratama as a vice principal, form teachers and history teachers. This programme was apparently still in one line with the topic of history subject in the 10th grade level, which is about ‘Hindu and Buddhist Kingdom in Indonesia’ and ‘The Kingdom of Islam in Indonesia’.
The departure started at 08:00 A.M., all students and teachers were gathered in the school as the meeting point. They all should wear clothes dominated by red color as the symbol that they dared to do something different, preserving history by visiting historical sites in Kampar regency.
There were 4 buses, the journey to Muara Takus Temple was approximately reached within 2.5 hours. In the relics and masterpieces of Sriwijaya Kingdom, the students were lectured with brief explanations from local tour guides about the history of Muara Takus temple, as the matter of fact, the grandeur of it should be a concern for us together.
After lunch, the students were accompanied by fellow teachers, entering Muara Takus Temple. The excitement of seeing the firsthand work of the nation’s predecessors was clearly visible on the faces of every student, since they are the younger generation of the country who must take care of this great history. Shared photo moments were taken collectively within this journey.
After visiting Muara Takus Temple, the journey was continued to Lontiok House within 45 minutes. Arriving at 3:30 P.M in the location, the students were warmly welcomed with traditional dance and music from Kampar.
By taking turns and turns, the students were allowed to enter Lontiok House which is a typical house of Kampar people. The students also watched the process of traditional sugar cane grinding, at the end, they could drink sugar cane water from the mill with a sweet taste. Moreover, the students also watched a traditional game performance, by local community. This was done to re-open their good time memories in childhood.
The moment of the photo together was immortalized as a form of historical memory in every journey of Indonesian children’s history. The group of Darma Yudha Senior High School field trip returned back to Pekanbaru at 06:00 P.M. This field trip could be done by the cooperation from all parties.
Give thanks to all parents for supporting and allowing their children to participate this field trip programme. Together with friends, they could visit historical sites in Kampar regency, Muara Takus Temple and Lontiok House. Go back to history by preserving it as a path to achieve your dreams! (APW)
