Riau Provincial Board of Perbasasi (Indonesia Association of Baseball and Softball) organized a softball regional Championship (male category) amongst the clubs in Riau. This event was an open tournament, held from 25th until 27th August 2017 at Softball Venue, Rumbai.

Darma Yudha School sent some students in this event, Owen (as the captain), Richard Ariwijaya, Ang Alfin, Faadillah Sayyid, M. Fadhel Salinov, M. Juan Rhizal Alwafi, Kendrick, Irsyad Zulfikri, Aaron Dylen, Jacky Chow, William Anthony, Axel Yunior San, and John Daniel Wijaya.

They were all under the guidance of Mr Arfan Kesuma as a head coach in Darma Yudha and Mr Eka Febri Setiawan as Darma Yudha softball coach. After going through a series of competition, Darma Yudha finally succeeded in achieving the 3rd position in softball regional championship.

Obviously, this result was obtained by a routine exercise and trust amongst the students in the battle field. Regarding this achievement, Sir Arfan as a head coach commented, “The 3rd champion is certainly happening because of the cohesiveness of the students in the field. We do hope, we can manage to improve our achievement in the future. It is a salute to the big family of Darma Yudha.” (APW)
