Tio Ciu Festival was started from 10 to 12 November 2018 in Medan, North Sumatra Province. This was an English debate tournament, attended by many students from schools and universities in North Sumatra and its surroundings. The tournament was divided into 2 categories, category A for junior high school students and 10th graders in senior high school, while category B for 11^th graders in senior high school and general participants.

Darma Yudha School delegated 5 teams, in which 2 teams in category A on behalf of DY A with Kenji Yeo and Stella Valeska and DY B with Thalia Fortuna and Cecilia Angelina. 3 teams in category B on behalf of DY A with Cherish Subhakti Suputra and Jeffsen Chuadiputra, DY B with Wiselly Wibowo and Shelen Go, and DY C with Thalia Faustina Susilo and Nadira Terrania Rachman.

In the tournament, British parliamentary was used as the system of debate. In category A, DY B team made it to the final round and awarded as the 3^rd runner up. Meanwhile, in category B, the three DY teams made it to the semi-finals and remained 2 teams in the final round. Finally, the DY A team was awarded as the 2^nd runner up, while the DY B team was the 3^rd runner up.

Other awards were achieved by Thalia Fortuna Susilo as the 3^rd best speaker of category B, Jeffsen Chuadiputra as the 4^th best speaker and Cherish Subhakti Suputra as the 2^nd best speaker of category B. They were all trained and guided by Mr Nunus. Congratulations guys, you made it!!! (APW)
