In Hwa Chong Model ASEAN Summit (HCMAS) 2018, Darma Yudha Senior High School was selected as Indonesia’s representative. This event was started from 5 to 10 March 2018. HCMAS is a prestigious annual event organized by Hwa Chong School Singapore as one of the best schools in Singapore.

During the programme, the students met and argued like how the ASEAN representatives from each country meet in a formal forum. Participants should be the representatives from one country in ASEAN, they talked and discussed various issues which have been prepared by the committee, also a way out of such problems.

HCMAS 2018 was attended by various renowned schools representing 5 ASEAN countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, and Thailand. This is the 16th event and it is so special this year because of 100 years Hwa Chong institution stands.

Mr Nunus who was a teacher in charge in accompanying the students during the programme recounted that Darma Yudha Senior High School represented by George, Cherrie Angel Wijaya, Thalia Faustina Susilo and Wiselly Wibowo could participate actively and interactively in every session, discussion, and activity.

Moreover, Cherrie Angel Wijaya and Thalia Faustina Susilo were awarded in a short essay competition. Mr Nunus said, “This is a pride and happiness as well as a valuable experience for our students. Hopefully, we can perform much better next year.” (JK)
